Cloverhound’s VirtualCourts Wins Multiple Awards

Cloverhound’s first-in-the-nation VirtualCourts solution won multiple awards for its innovative use of technology in closing the distance between people and their government. The Virtual Hearings Center built by Cloverhound won the “Best Application Serving the Public” award in Government Technology magazine’s Best of New York awards, which will be presented on September 13. Additionally, Cloverhound’s technology won the 2019 International Association of Industrial Accident Boards and Commissions (IAIABC) Excellence Award.

“Cloverhound’s VirtualCourts platform solves problems that government agencies deal with every day,” said Angelica Srivoraphan, Cloverhound’s Director of Business Operations and Development. “Trying to improve accessibility or attendance rates? Virtual Hearings can be accessed from anywhere. Want to reduce wait times? Our innovative queueing solution effectively eliminates the waiting room.”

VirtualCourts is powered by Cloverhound’s VirtualQ framework and built on the Cisco Webex Teams collaboration platform. It is currently in use by the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board. Since 2017, the platform has handled over 209,000 virtual hearings, with nearly 45% of participants attending virtually. An iOS version of the application is available in the Apple App Store for iPhones and iPads, and an Android version is in the works.

Government Technology and its sister publications are an award-winning family of magazines covering information technology’s role in state and local governments. Government Technology is a division of e.Republic, Inc. The International Association of Industrial Accident Boards and Commissions (IAIABC) is a not-for-profit association representing government agencies charged with the administration of workers’ compensation systems as well as other workers’ compensation professionals in the private sector.
